Dartford Grammar School is a lead school in the Computing At School’s Network of Excellence. We are also a CAS Hub for Computer Science teachers in North Kent and have been providing bespoke training courses and school-to-school support since 2014.

We specialise in helping schools develop their Computer Science staff and offerings to students. For primary schools, we offer help in delivering the DASCO Primary School curriculum, a curriculum for weekly Computer Science lesson from years 1 to 6. Every year, we also host the Scratch Cup programming competition for year 3/4 and 5/6 students.

For secondary schools we offer short courses in programming co-sponsored by the University of Greenwich and other training events, including GCSE controlled assessment moderation and support.

Our intention is to continue providing subject specific school to school support, whilst at the same time, investigating ways of increasing the opportunities for staff from all of our alliance member schools to share expertise.

Chris Coetzee (Lead Computer Science subject mentor for Kent and Medway Training) leads the sessions, held at Dartford Grammar School.

If you are interested and would like to book a support session or find out when the next course is, please contact John Fitzpatrick (Director of Teaching School): jfitzpatrick@nwktsa.org.uk
